Decades Challenge TS4: Still roaring

Slow motions

Virgil was worried. The economy in the continent did not look good. Things were starting to go bad with the industry and the money makers around the sim world.

He knew that his family had plenty to withstand difficulties, and that their farming would even give them food when others did not get it, but still, he felt the responsibility of providing for his family grow heavy on his shoulders.

His sister Valerie had asked for his financial advice. Since she had re-married, her family moved to old Mr. Munch's house in San Myshuno. Her father in law had passed a few years before, and Valerie had married her late husband's brother, who was also a widower and had a young son.

Valerie's new husband was not as cunning for business as his late father had been, so she wanted her brother's advice on how to stay afloat in the trouble times brewing ahead.

The precarious economy notwithstanding, Virgil's family was doing well. By late spring in 1925 Elizabeth gave her husband great news: she was with child again!

The house had a small renovation that summer, with new wallpaper in many of the rooms. The entertaining room, as they called it, got a new face.

In the fall Harold had a birthday and he became a "big boy".

Of course, by then Hyacinth was two.

Guess who was the apple of her daddy's eye?

Most of the fall of that year, Elizabeth worked on the sewing machine.

They did not have frivolous expenses, but she knew that some among her extended family would need anything they could spare, and probably very soon, so she made sure she had things in good condition to share. Even the back aches from her condition would not deter her from helping others out and sharing her blessings.
